How we compare
Every AI clipping tool turns a long video into short, captioned clips. The differences that actually matter are how you're billed, what the free tier really gives you, and what happens to your clips afterwards. Here's a straight read on each — including where the other tool is the better choice.
Global Vextra AI vs Opus Clip
A mature, template-rich clipper on a fixed monthly minute cap. We bill per source minute — trim first and pay only for what you process — and put 1080p, watermark-free output on the entry plan rather than the top one.
Opus Clip is strong on: AI-generated B-roll, voice-clone dubbing and translation, and the largest template library in the category.

A broad, polished short-form suite. We're a focused clipper: per-source-minute billing, an ongoing free tier, and clips that stay on your plan until you delete them.
Submagic is strong on: Some of the best caption styling anywhere, plus B-roll, avatars, dubbing, and built-in publishing and scheduling.

How to read these
We wrote them, so read them with that in mind — but we've tried to make that unnecessary. Each page says plainly where the other tool is better, and several of them ship things we don't do at all: AI-generated B-roll, voice-clone dubbing, AI avatars. We repurpose footage you already have.
Every figure is dated on the page it appears on, and pricing on either side changes often — confirm the current numbers on each provider's own site before you decide. Our side of it is on pricing, features and how tokens work.
Or just try it on your own footage
A table only gets you so far. Upload one real video on the free plan and judge the clips yourself.
